Janice Mae Eddy, Age 74, of Austin, Arkansas passed away February 12, 2021. She was born October 20, 1946, in Waukegan, Illinois.
Janice is survived by her daughter, Daniece Eddy Howard and two granddaughters, Anna Alesha Brown and Brandi Howard (William); six great-grandchildren, Jonathan Hiner, Haylee Brown, Kylee Brown, Caleb Brown, Mason Duncan and Wynter Duncan. She is also survived by her sister and best friend in life, Joyce Lindsey and several nieces and nephews.
Janice was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, James Rayburn Eddy; her precious grandson, Bradley Troy Howard; her sweet sister, Jannette Eddy, her mother, Anna Adams.
She graduated high school in 1965 from Mt. Vernon High School in Fortville, Indiana. She attended the University of Central Arkansas in Conway and received her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education in May 1982. She was a teacher for the Little Rock School District for several years. She loved all of her students as if they were her own.
She later retired and enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved sunny days, flowers. plants, reading, and she loved animals. She had a special bond over the years with every family pet including dogs, cats, chickens, birds, turkeys, peacocks, squirrels, cows, pigs, and even a pet skunk. Another big passion of hers was baking and cooking. She always prepared hot meals and baked desserts that were so delicious. She was well known for her holiday dressing, yellow cake and her special waffles.
She always provided a loving, cozy, and comfortable home for her family. She loved the Lord and she always tried to help others in any way she could.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to all the people and health professionals from Kindred Hospice who were involved in her care during the last few weeks of her life. The family would like to express a special thanks to her nurse, Christina; her aide, Cynthia; Chaplain Ted and Ms. Connie for all of their love, care and support for the family during these very difficult last couple of months.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 24, 2021, at Grace Fellowship Church 601 West Elm Street Cabot, Arkansas 72023 with Brother Tom LaFave officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service also at the church. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Cabot.
