Janice Austin

October 12, 1957 — March 12, 2022

Janice Ann Austin, Born October 12, 1957 in Killeen, Texas; went to be with her savior and Lord, on March 12, 2022 in Conway, Arkansas.

She graduated Vilonia High School in1976 and Draughon’s Practical Business College in 1977. She worked for University of Central Arkansas in Conway AR from December 12, 1977, until she retired May 15, 2021, where she began as keypunch operater, then ran an optical scanner, ending her career there as the departmental administrative assistant.

She is a Christian and a devoted member of Vilonia First Baptist Church that she loved dearly. She was a daughter, sister, niece, friend, but her favorite role was Mother. Janice adopted her daughter, Rachel Christine Austin in 2005. She felt so proud and blessed to be Rachel's mommy. In truth, they both were blessed. Janice took on that role like she did all others, best to her ability. She was a devoted daughter, she was a loyal sister who was quick to make her siblings lives and responsibilities a little lighter, filling in gaps and supplying comfort and encouragement. She was a niece who grew up alongside a grateful aunt being friend and confidant since early childhood, a friend that was dependable, fun, generous of time and spirit always. Janice had recently retired so that she could help her parents as they struggled with health problems.

It is truly to us, an untimely, and unfair by worldly standards departure from this world. But we rest in the sure knowledge that our God is in control, and we trust him. Janice did too. Recently, while we were discussing her Father's service, Janice had one request, tell everyone there about the salvation of Jesus Christ available to them, so they could have our peace. When we lose those we love so much, we know that seperation is temporary, that the pain of missing them is ours alone. Janice is with her family that traveled ahead and is rejoicing with Jesus face to face.

ll Corinthians 5:8, "We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord."

Janice loved people. She wanted everyone to know Jesus and join her there, so here we fulfill her request that each of you know the way.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her mother, Jaunita Austin of Vilonia; her daughter, Rachel Christine Austin; her two brothers, Steve Austin of Vilonia and Ricky Austin of Holland, Arkansas; her best friend and sister, Robin Hall; as well as many extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Bobby Austin; her grandmother, Oma Austin; and grandparents, John Lee and Elizabeth Morden.
