James Paul Watkins, 90, of McRae went to be with the Lord on March 20, 2020. He was born to the late James Troy and Ethel Pearline Middleton Watkins on December 9, 1929 at Sasakwa, Oklahoma. Mr. Watkins was also preceded in death by his sister, Gertrude Foresberg; two brothers Troy and Carl Dean Watkins; and one daughter, Kathy Louise Caruthers.
Mr. Watkins married Flossie Morgan Watkins September 1, 1955 at McCroy, who survives. He is also survived by two sons, Roy Lee Watkins of Benton and Mark Allen Watkins of McRae; 6 grandchildren, Michael Meeze, Johnny Mees, Mark Anthony Watkins, Sarah Watkins, Nathaniel Watkins, and Morgan Watkins; and 7 great grandchildren, Aadison Robison, Max Watkins, Riley Watkins, Valerie Mees, Whitney Mees, Adrian Watkins, and Hadley Watkins.
Mr. Watkins served in the US Army during the Korean War. He was a hard worker who supported his family. He enjoyed flea marketing with his wife, camping with his family, and was a beloved husband, father, and papa.
Graveside services will be 11:30 Monday, March 23, 2020 at White County Memorial Gardens. Visitation is private.
