James Roy Turner, age 66 of Kingsland died, Sunday, January 1, 2012. He was born November 18, 1945 in Kingsland, a son of the late Jesse W. Turner and Bertha Virginia Clark Turner. James Roy attended Kingsland Missionary Baptist Church. He loved riding his tractor daily and visiting his friends along the way, his hobby was picking up cans. James Roy was also preceded in death by three sisters, Fay Turner, May Turner and Virginia Connell. James Roy is survived by two brothers and sisters-in-law, Arthur Edward "Buck" and Kathleen Turner of Earlville, Illinois, John and Judy Turner of Fordyce; one sister and brother-in-law, Frances and Harold Sims of Kingsland; a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services are 10:00 a.m., Thursday, January 5, 2012 at Buie Funeral Home with Brother Rick Bolin and Reverend Mark Rivers officiating. Burial will follow in Cross Roads Cemetery. Visitation is 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at Buie Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Donald Sims, Donaven Sims, Dean Steelman, Steven Turner, James Wylie and Jay Wylie. Honorary pallbearers are Derrick Sims, Clay Mills and John Connell. Memorials may be made to Kingsland Missionary Baptist Church or the donor's charity of choice.
