James L. Shirley

James L. Shirley, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, this life on December 3, 2024, at the age of 90. Born on January 16, 1934, to the late Raymon and Flossie Shirley.

James dedicated two years of his life to serving his country the United States Army, following his military service, he embarked on a successful career in real estate.

Beyond his professional achievements, James was known for his zest for life. He had a passion for traveling and swimming, finding joy in both adventure and relaxation. His fun-loving spirit extended to gymnastics, reflecting his belief in the importance of both physical fitness and the pursuit of happiness.

James is survived by his beloved wife of 16 years, Venus Shirley, who brought immense joy and companionship to his life. He is also survived by his children, James Lewis Shirley Jr. (Debbie) and Phillis Louise Daniel (Donnie), as well as his treasured grandchildren, James Lewis Shirley III, Jennifer Jivani, Josh, Travis, Bryan, Nathan Daniels, and Jasmine Daniels who will forever hold a special place in their hearts for their grandfather, along with many great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Bobby Shirley, Dena, and Mona. Their memories are a cherished part of his legacy.

A visitation will be held on December 6, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Cole Funeral Home, located at 111 Wilbur D Mills Ave, Kensett, AR 72082. This will be followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM at the same location, where family and friends will gather to celebrate a life well-lived and to honor the memory of James L. Shirley.
