James Paul Scott, age 90, of Searcy passed away on Sunday, August 28, 2022. He was born September 25, 1931 in Sidon, Arkansas to the late Carl and Edith Naomi Scott. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife Betty Jo Scott, whom he married March 21, 1954 in Tunica, MS, he was also preceded in death by his son Ronnie Scott, and two sisters Carlene Caldwell and Allene Hamilton. Mr. Scott was owner of Scott’s Furniture in Searcy for over 66 years, he was also an antique furniture dealer for many years. He served his country in the United States Army and in the Arkansas National Guard. He enjoyed Pheasant hunting and bass fishing.

He is survived by a daughter, Paula Scott of Searcy; two sons, Mike Scott (Lisa) and Tim Scott (Teresa) both of Searcy; daughter-in-law, Renee Scott of Quitman; seven grandchildren, Tyler and Meagan Scott, Lauren Landers (David), Leah Grimes (Brandon), Hannah Jo Scott, Blaine Fowler (Brittany), Kaley Willis; eight great-grandchildren, Ransom Watson, Kaylei Scott, Sadie Landers, Dakota, Kayden, and Bentlee Grimes, Elexis Willis, Robert Norman, and Luke Fowler.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at Sullivan Funeral Care in Kensett. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until service time.
