James Harold (Red) Power

James Harold (Red) Power, age 59 of Rison, died Monday, July 11, 2011 at his home. He was born March 24, 1952 in Pine Bluff, a son of the late Martin Edward Power and Bea Hamilton Rembowski of Pine Bluff. Mr. Power was a 1972 graduate of Pine Bluff High School. He married Brenda Greenlee on June 15, 1973. Mr. Power retired from Varco Pruden where he was a supervisor. He was a member of Rison Baptist Church where he was a former Sunday School Teacher and a member of the Van McKinney Sunday School Class. Mr. Power was a Green Bay Packer and Razorback sports fan; he enjoyed fishing, gardening and riding his motorcycle. He was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather, always had an encouraging word, and above all, was a Christian Man. Mr. Power was also preceded in death by one brother, Sam Power; one sister, Tammi Renea Power.

Mr. Power is survived by his wife, Brenda Greenlee Power of Rison; two sons and daughters-in-law, Eric and Polly Power of Rison, Chris and Janson Power of Fordyce; one daughter, Laura Power of Rison; Scott and Janna Greenlee of Whitewright, Texas, whom he loved as a son; mother, Bea Hamilton Rembowski of Pine Bluff; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Ed and Sandy Power, Tom and Sherrie Power, all of Pine Bluff, Jeff and Charlotte Power of Sheridan; two grandchildren, Harleigh Power and Jaxon Power.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 14, 2011 at Buie Funeral Home with Brother Wade Totty officiating. Burial will follow in Wilmot Cemetery in Wilmot, Arkansas at 2:30 p.m. Pallbearers are Ernie Westfall, John Clifton, Billy Knowles, Ronnie Brown, Calvin Riggins and Pete Paylor. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at Buie Funeral Home in Rison. Memorials may be made to Rison Baptist Church Building Fund, P. O. Box 404, Rison, Arkansas 71665.
