James Carroll Peters

Retired Master Sergeant, James Carroll Peters, age 81, of Pine Bluff, died Saturday, October 5, 2013 at his home. He was born January 16, 1932 in Ivan, Arkansas, a son of the late Richard Peters and Gertrude Price Peters Rodgers. Mr. Peters retired from the United States Air Force and the United States Postal Service. He was a 1950 graduate of Rison High School. Mr. Peters enjoyed fishing and hunting and was a Baptist. Mr. Peters is survived by his wife, Sara Hall Peters of Pine Bluff; daughter, Bobbi Peters of Pine Bluff; brother, J. T. Rodgers of Rison; sister, Evelyn Simmons of Rison, granddaughters, Kimberly Peters and Kristen Peters. Visitation is 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, October 6, 2013 at Buie Funeral Home in Rison. Funeral services are 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 7, 2013 at Buie Funeral Home Chapel in Rison with Brother Ken Thornton officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in Rison. Pallbearers are Larry Hall, J. T. Rodgers, Tom Rodgers, Randy Hall, Jerry Taylor, Tom Taylor and Victor Mac Maroney. Arrangements are by Buie Funeral Home of Rison (870) 325-6216.
