James "Jim" Millard Wood, 88, of Quitman, passed away Saturday, May 1st, 2021 at the V.A. Hospital in Little Rock.
He was born January 27, 1933, in Wright, Arkansas to Rayburn and Mary Wood. He was a Korean War Veteran in the United States Army. He was a structural contractor and member of the Ironworkers Local 321 in Little Rock. He was proud to have been part of the building of the Minuteman Missile program in Arkansas. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time outdoors.
Jim is survived by his son, Gary Wood (Gladys) of Quitman; two sisters, Brenda Hefner of Shreveport, LA; Mary Hopkins (Robert) of Little Rock; three grandchildren, Phillip Wood, Julia Wood and Dalton Wood as well as many extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his spouse, Pauline (Polly) Wood and his son, Roger Wood.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Friday, May 7th, 2021, from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm at Vilonia Funeral Home Chapel 1134 Main Street Vilonia, Arkansas 72173. Funeral Services will follow at 2:00 pm in Hawthicket Cemetery in Mount Vernon.
