James "Tex" E. Mckinzie

James E. Tex McKinzie age 67 of Heber Springs formerly of Rison, died Friday, May 1, 2009 at the Golden Living Nursing Home. He was born June 12, 1941 in Cleveland County, a son of the late Jim and Cora Lunsford McKinzie. Mr. McKinzie served in the Army during the Viet Nam Era and was a warded the Bronze Star Metal. He was a self employed truck driver and a member of First Missionary Baptist Church of Sherrill. Mr. McKinzie was also preceded in death by one brother, Jake McKenzie; one sister, Frances Lindley.

Mr. McKinzie is survived by one daughter, April McKinzie of Ft. Worth, Texas; three sisters, Joyce Bost of Sherrill, Ludie Rice of Malvern, Virginia Wells of Benbrooke, Texas; two grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at Macedonia Cemetery near Rison with Brother John C. Williams officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday, May 4, 2009 at Buie Funeral Home in Rison. Arrangements are under the direction of Buie Funeral Home of Rison (870) 325-6216.
