James Golden

Reverend James Golden, age 77, of Buford, Georgia, formerly of Belize, Central America and Kingsland, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord on December 24, 2014. He was born January 12, 1937 in Kingsland, a son of the late William L. Golden and Dollie Culligan Golden. Reverend Golden served faithfully on the mission fields for over 50 years in Mexico and Belize. He had the heart of a true servant and was the happiest missionary as he presented Jesus with a smile and open arms. He and his family dedicated their lives to go where the Lord led even though the obstacles and challenges were great. Reverend Golden traveled to the remote villages by plane, foot, boat or bus, enduring the elements to meet the needs of God's children. His goal in life was to present Jesus to a lost and dying world, that they too may experience the joy and benefits of a Christian, doing so in a very meek and humble way. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Murlene Golden, whom he married February 24, 1961; three brothers, William Wayne Golden, Charles Golden and Weldon Golden and one sister, Mary Frances Cooper. Left to cherish is his memory is one son, Samuel Golden and his wife Patricia of Buford, Georgia; one daughter, Dwana Michele Golden of Kingsland; two brothers, Ronald Golden of Vilonia and John Golden of Pine Bluff; six sisters, Joann Reid of Eagle Bride, New York, Pauline Davis of Kingsland, Alene Thompson of New Edinburg, Cletis Cullins of Rison, Betty Sue Robinson and Judy Hays both of Warren; four grandchildren, Rony Jiron, Joshua Jiron, Matthew James Golden and Alva Rocio Rivera Golden; six great grandchildren, Vivian Abigail Jiron, Rony Daniel Jiron, Joshua James Jiron, Jevaun Jose Jiron, Jace Johan Jiron and Miete Rivera. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 30, 2014 and 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at Buie Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 31, 2014 in the chapel with the Reverend Bert E. Montgomery, General Bishop of the Full Gospel Christian Association officiating. Burial to follow at Gum Grove Cemetery in Kingsland. Pallbearers are Rony Jiron, Matthew Golden, Bubba Golden, Mark Collins, A.J. Dollar and Braden Danner.
