James Blansett

May 4, 1932 — August 12, 2024

Searcy

James Andrew (Jim) Blansett was born May 4,1932 and died August 12, 2024. He leaves behind a wife of 70 years, Jean (Wiley) Blansett, his sons Andy (Cheryl), Wiley(Lyn), Phillip(Karen), and daughter Sarah Blansett English, eight grandchildren and of 16 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by their infant son Timothy, his parents Ramon and Johnnie (Haulcroft) Blansett, one sister Ruth Blansett Buckie and one brother Clyde Blansett.

Jim proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.  After he was honorably discharged,  he became a salesman. Initially he sold to grocery stores, then spent many years as a traveling shoe salesman.  He later settled as an insurance agent with his wife working along side him; they sold insurance in Searcy for over 40 years.  The Blansett Agency was known for its honesty, integrity and warmth.  Jim loved selling. He would sell anything. His children would tease their mother that if she stood still too long he would sell her.

Jim served in many positions at Downtown Church of Christ and later at West Side Church of Christ. Jim loved singing and had a beautiful voice.

We are sure he is using all of his earthly talents to glorify God and rejoice in his reunion with his son Timothy(1956) and other beloved family members.

Please keep Jean in your prayers through this time of grief.  A private family service will be held.

Memorial donations may be sent to Children’s Home, Inc of Paragould, Arkansas. Jim was an active fundraiser for the Children’s Home before he became ill.

Cremation arrangements provided by Cole Funeral Home in Kensett, Arkansas. Please sign the online guestbook at www.sullivanfuneralcare.com
