James Allen "Jim" Walker, age 76, of Vilonia, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, August 25th, 2021, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born July 11th, 1945, in Camden, Arkansas to J.W. and Dorothy Walker. He was a veteran in the United States Navy during the Vietnam conflict. Jim worked as a Postal Clerk at the Little Rock Post Office unit his retirement. He enjoyed sports with the Razorbacks being his favorite team, southern gospel music, and spending time being "Papa" to his grandchildren.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of 54 years, Carol Evans Walker of Vilonia, Arkansas; three daughters, Robin Thomas (Boyd) of Rogers, Arkansas; Kelly Ashley (Jeff) of Vilonia, Arkansas; Amy Gore (Vincent) of Slidell, Louisiana; one son, Jay W. Walker of Vilonia, Arkansas; one sister, Janice Sue Allen of Jacksonville, Arkansas; eight grandchildren; Grace Thomas, Evan Thomas, Ryan Ashley, KayLee Trickey (Ryan), Lydia Ashley, Victoria Gore, Kymber Higden (Patrick), Sarah Walker; two great-grandchildren, Audrey Ashley and Alan Ashley, as well as a host of cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
It was Jim's wish to be cremated. The family will host a time of reflection and sharing of memories at a memorial visitation at 1:00 pm, on Saturday, August 28, 2021, in the Family Life Center (FLC) of Friendship Baptist Church, 767 Rocky Point Rd, Conway, AR 72032.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made in Jimmy's honor at Friendship Baptist Church Youth Department, 767 Rocky Point Rd, Conway, AR 72032.
