Jacqueline Johnston

Ada Jacqueline Johnston age 86, of Pansy, went to be with the Lord on February 3, 2022. She was born March 10, 1935, in Woodlawn, to the late John C. And Pauline Yarbrough Ashcraft. She graduated from Woodlawn High School in 1952. On November 17, 1955 Jacqueline married Willie John Johnston. They moved to Pine Bluff and she began working at the Hudson Bag Plant, where she worked for 12+ years. Selling produce at the Pine Bluff Farmers Market was something they also did together. They moved to Pansy in the early 1990’s to be closer to their family. She was a longtime member of Bethel #2 Missionary Baptist. Jacqueline loved cooking, being a homemaker, watching the Razorbacks on tv, but most of all loved being with her family. Some of her most enjoyable times were spent with her grandchildren and watching Woodlawn Bear baseball. Also taking vacations with her brother and sisters, brother-in-laws, nieces and nephews were always a summer highlight for her.

She is survived by her sister Patsy Smith of Pine Bluff, brother John Edward (Carolyn) Ashcraft, two sons, Wilton (Donna) Johnston of Rowell, Wade Johnston of Randall; three grandchildren; Ellie Johnston, Gavin (Emily) Johnston, Maddox Johnston, and one great grandchild; Tucker Johnston.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Willie John Johnston, sister Mary Nell Atkinson, brother-in-laws; Gary Atkinson and Cecil Smith, Aunt Evelyn Crook.

Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 6, 2022 at Bethel #2 Missionary Baptist Church, with visitation starting at 1:00 p.m. until service time. Interment followed at Prosperity Cemetery with Bro.Wade Peddy officiating. Pallbearers; Mark Young, Tommy Richardson, Wayne Richardson, Jeff Patrick, Brad Wilson, Gavin Johnston, Maddox Johnston.
