Jack Wayne Reed, Sr., 75, of Rison went to be with the Lord, Sunday, October 4, 2015 peacefully while surrounded by his beloved family. He was born January 29, 1940 in Rison, Arkansas, the youngest child of the late Jack Reed and Bertha Lee Chapman Reed. He served in the U.S. Air Force and worked at International Paper for 42 years. He was of the Baptist faith and attended Rison Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and spending time with his grandchildren and beloved family. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Bennie Olan Reed, Manard Opal Reed, Howard Evan Reed, and Ira Max Reed. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Myra Esther Lea Reed; children Jack "Jackie" Wayne Reed, Jr. (Pam), Kevin Lee Reed (Tom), Carla Elaine Reed Woodard (Mitchell), and Kriston Layne Reed (Jamie); brother Ulyss Paul Reed (Carren), sister Marian Lavon Reed Veazey; grandchildren Makayla Rose Woodard, Annabelle Lea Woodard, Makenzie Marie Woodard, and Carter Layne Reed, as well as a host of family and friends. Graveside funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 8, 2015 at Black Cemetery with Brother Danny Allen officiating. Visitation will be held at Buie Funeral Home Wednesday, October 7, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be Lamar Jennings, Vernon Dollar, Paul Davis, Cleve Reed, Roth Rabb, Paul Reed, Raymond Lea. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Rison Baptist Church Jesus First Building fund. Arrangements are by Buie Funeral Home of Rison.
