J W. Green

J. W. Dub Green age 84 of Rison, died Friday, February 29, 2008 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff. He was born December 15, 1923 in Star City, a son of the late Ambers and Icie Glover Green. Mr. Green owned and operated Green and Whittington Logging before his retirement and later worked for Rison Public Schools for two years. He was a member of Rison Baptist Church. Mr. Green was also preceded in death by his wife, Lorene Ratliff Green; an infant son; sister, Geraldine Lloyd.

Mr. Green is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Tommy and Pam Green of Rison; daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Johnnie Poss, Joanne and Terry Gray, all of Rison, Ashley Green, Amanda Reed both of Sheridan; brothers, Floyd Green of Glendale, Leon Green of Rison; sister, Birdie King of Rison; grandchildren, Bill Whittington, Randy Poss, Becky McDonald, Amber Green and Tabitha Rowland; eleven great grandchildren. Funeral services are 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 3, 2008 at Rison Baptist Church with Brother Wade Totty and Brother Bill Whittington officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, March 2, 2008 at Buie Funeral Home in Rison. Pallbearers are David Green, Carter King, Phil Green, Larry King, Wayne Parker, Raymond Aud, Bobby King and Jerry Lloyd. Honorary pallbearers are the Rison Football Team and Coaching Staff.
