J H. Blackstock

J. H. Bud Blackstock age 87, of Rison, died Saturday, June 20, 2009 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff. He was born February 1, 1922, in Georgia, a son of the late Golden and Bonnie Blackstock. Mr. Blackstock graduated from Watson Chapel High School and was a World War II Army veteran. He was a logger and a member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Irene Bass Blackstock; son, Fletcher H. Bass.

Mr. Blackstock is survived by his daughter, Ruth Holland of Rison; one brother; two sisters ;six grandchildren, Carl Bass, Greg Bass, Kim Hall, Clay Hollingshead, Fletcher Bass Jr., and Pamela Langley; ten great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.

Graveside services are 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 24, 2009, at Mt. Zion Cemetery with Brother Wade Totty officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 23, 2009, at Buie Funeral Home in Rison. Arrangements are under the direction of Buie Funeral Home of Rison (870) 325-6216.
