Jean Grounds of West Palm Beach, Florida, formerly of Prattsville, Arkansas was born January 12, 1917 in Jasper, Tennessee. She was the daughter of Geo Hudson and Lillie Carney. She was a housewife and mother. She lived in many states in the US during her life, but Prattsville was always her home. Her most enjoyable time in life was living on the farm in Prattsville and raising her son David and helping to raise his best friend Russell Hollinger. Mrs. Grounds died Tuesday June 12, 2012 at an assisted living facility in West Palm Beach at the age of 95. Survivors include son and daughter-in-law David and Kathy Grounds of West Palm Beach, Florida; sister Roberta Jenkins of Jacksonville Florida, brothers and sisters-in-law Clyde and Betty Sue Gibbons of Malvern, Arkansas, and Lester and Janice Gibbons of St. Paul, Minnesota; four grandchildren, Jon Grounds of San Francisco, California, Jude Grounds of Portland, Oregon, Joshua Grounds of Durango, Colorado and Joseph Grounds of Knoxville, Tennessee. Ms. Grounds married the love of her life, Willard W. Grounds on September 9, 1936. She was a homemaker, loving wife, mother and caregiver. Visitation will be 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M., Friday, June 22, 2012 at Buie Funeral Home in Sheridan. Graveside funeral service will be 11:00 A.M., Saturday, June 23, 2012 at Philadelphia Cemetery near Sheridan, Arkansas.
