On Wednesday, February 23, 1938, a beautiful baby girl arrived she was named Ida Marie Russ. She was the third child born to the late Gilbert R. and Daisy Russ.
At an early age she confessed a hope in Christ and was baptized and joined Grant Memorial AME church under leadership of Rev. Walton. Later in 1974 she was baptized a Jehovah Witness. In the Late 80’s she rejoined Grant Memorial AME under leadership of Rev. Wilford Reid until moving to Beebe, Ar. In 2006 she renewed her love for GOD and Christ and was baptized by Pastor Bill Baldridge in her new church home Greater Vision Sanctuary.
In 1956 she married Clarence Tucker in this union two kids were born, Lillian (Lester), Clarence (Kristi Kirk). In 1963 she married Bobby Jackson two kids were born Bobby, and Kimberly.
Ida M. Jackson worked several jobs, a house cleaner, typists for Chicago Department of Public Aid. But she found the most joy in being a school bus driver for over 30 years. She received her education from the Chicago public school system.
She was a strong-willed woman that did what was needed to be done for her family. She had a warm spirt, listening ears, good Character and Morals, lots of love to share with family and friends.
Her favorite hobbies were fishing and reading. Her favorite color was purple.
Ida was preceded in death by her sisters, Maude Lillian, Glenda, and parents. She leaves to cherish her memories, 28 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren. A goddaughter Zina Neely. Her best friend for over 50 years Bernice Johnson, 1 special cousin Noralene Washington, several close extended family members Larry (Donna) Ezell, Brenda Davenport, Don (Jo) Barker, Carlis Fletcher, Webster family and her church family as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends who will miss her dearly.
Visitation will be 5-7 Friday, June 18, 2021, at Sullivan Funeral Care with funeral services 1:00 p.m. Saturday in the Sullivan Memorial Chapel. Cremation will follow services with a private interment at Oak Grove Cemetery in Searcy.
