Howard Cotton

Howard Cotton, age 81, of Sheridan, died Thursday, January 24, 2008 at the Veterans Hospital in Little Rock. Mr. Cotton was born June 25, 1926 in Texas, a son of the late Jordan and Jessie Berry Cotton. He was an Army veteran and was a retired sawyer for Foxes Saw Mill in Sheridan. Mr. Cotton was a member of Ephesus Missionary Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lillie Lou Cotton; son, Howard Stanley Cotton; grandson, James Hood; brother, Sammy Cotton.

Survivors include a son, Damon Cotton of Sheridan; three daughters and son-in-law, Peggy Cotton and Betty Cotton, both of Sheridan, and Brenda and Sonny Lawson of Redfield; brother, James Bo Cotton of Sheridan; twelve grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 27, 2008 at Buie Funeral Chapel with Brother Al Michael and Brother Rick Poyner officiating. Burial will follow at Rhodes cemetery in Sheridan. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Saturday, January 26, 2008 at Buie Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the V.A.
