Horace B. Mosley, age 89 of Sheridan, Arkansas passed away October 31, 2019 in Benton. He was born April 3, 1930 in Bearden, Arkansas to the late Obie B. Mosley and Alma Doherty Mosley. Horace was a member of Lost Creek Missionary Baptist Church in Sheridan, and was a retired sawmill worker, self-employed lawn mower repairman, and carpenter.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his three brothers, Obie Mosley, Jr. (Mutt), George Mosley, and Edison Mosley, and two sisters, Loretta (Sister) Mosley and Nell Rose Nowlin. He was also preceded in death by his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, and several nieces and nephews, and by a great grandson, Samuel Isaiah Powell.
He is survived by his wife of 69 1/2 years, Wilma Robinson Mosley of Sheridan, three daughters, Ann Freeman and husband Howard, Lillie Shoptaw and husband Bob, and Bobbie Mosley, all of Sheridan; three grandchildren, Chris Freeman and wife Lana, Jennifer Shoptaw Powell and husband Steven, and Amy Shoptaw Sanders, four great-grandchildren, Damien Freeman, Kevin Freeman, Peyton Powell and Mack Sanders. He is also survived by a brother, Archie Mosley, sister-in-law, Betty Mosley and brother-in-law and wife Calvin and Nina Robinson, along with many, many nieces and nephews, who were like his own children.
Pallbearers will be his nephews.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, November 3, 2019 at Buie Funeral Home of Sheridan with Bro. Kenneth Click and Doyle Caldwell officiating the service. Burial will follow in Providence Cemetery in Grant County. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
