Homer Allen Reed

September 30, 1941 — February 21, 2016

Homer Allen Reed, age 74 of Calmer went to meet the Lord Sunday, February 21, 2016. He was born September 30, 1941 in Jefferson County, a son of the late Fred Reed and Laura Phelphs Reed. Mr. Reed was employed with Central Moloney for over thirty years. He enjoyed fishing, deer hunting and was a member of the Reed Deer Club. Mr. Reed was a member of Center Missionary Baptist Church in Rowell. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Howard Reed, Johnnie Reed and Billy Kenneth Reed.

Survivors include his wife of fifty-three years, Lela Mae Case Reed of Calmer; son, Greg Reed and wife, Cindy of Rowell; daughter, Tracy Reed of Little Rock; grandson, Shane Allen Reed and wife, Ashley of Cabot and two great grandsons, Greyson and Beckham Reed.

Funeral services are 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at Center Missionary Baptist Church in Rowell with Brother Doney Blackerby and Brother Jackie Richardson officiating. Interment will follow at Rowell Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., Monday, February 22, 2016 at Buie Funeral Home in Rison. Pallbearers are James M. Reed, Adam Reed, Ronnie J. Reed, Joe Reed, Gary W. Reed, Kenny Reed, Randy K. Reed, Randall Reed and Freddie Reed. Memorials can be made to Center Missionary Baptist Church. Funeral arrangements are by Buie Funeral Home of Rison.
