Hershel Puckett

Hershel Puckett, age 72, of Rison, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, March 20, 2013. He was born February 12, 1941 in England, Arkansas, a son of the late Ray Samuel Puckett and Ella Belle May Puckett. Mr. Puckett was a 1960 graduate of Rison High School. He was a retired baker for Wonder Bread. Mr. Puckett enjoyed hunting, fishing, motorcycle riding, being with family and friends and attending church. He was a faithful member of Bethel Number One Missionary Baptist Church. Mr. Puckett is survived by his wife, Eloise Harmon Puckett of Rison, whom he married on July 12, 1969; two sons and daughters-in-law, Sean and Jimmie Puckett of Manila, Shane and Courtney Puckett of Ruston, Louisiana; one daughter, Shelly Miller of Florida; three brothers, Donald Puckett of Pine Bluff, Samuel Puckett of Woodlawn and Floyd Ray Puckett of Rogers; one sister, Nora Mae Briant of Monticello; one grandson, Christopher Puckett of Manila; mother-in-law, Maudie Bradis of Rison. Funeral services are 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 22, 2013 at Bethel Number One Missionary Baptist Church with Brother John Fulmer officiating. Entombment will be at 3:00 p.m. in Pine Crest Cemetery near Alexander. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, March 21, 2013 at Buie Funeral Home in Rison. Pallbearers are Craig Puckett, Morgan Ray Briant, Douglas Briant, Wesley Puckett, Jason Coburn and Eric Rawls. Honorary pallbearers are the morning coffee crew.
