Helen Louise Riggins

Helen Louise Riggins, age 90, of Rison went to be with the Lord Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center. She was born July 15, 1925 in Banks, a daughter of the late Marcus King and Ilda Burks King. Mrs. Riggins was a retired seamstress and faithful, active member of Sardis Missionary Baptist Church in Grapevine. She loved spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mack Ralph Riggins and seven brothers.

Survivors include three sons, Mack Riggins Jr. and wife, Alice of Rison, Billy Riggins and wife, Cecilia of White Hall, Ricky Riggins and wife, Linda of Rison; one daughter, Betty Valentine and husband, Hal of Harker Heights, Texas; eight grandchildren, Stacie Ludlow, Ricky L. Riggins, Brian Riggins, Amy Reece, Katie Elliott, Leslie Irick, Richard Valentine, Heath Wingard; nineteen great grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Marcell Jacks of Rowell, Topsy Taylor of Rison and sister-in-law, Judy King of Rison.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, April 29, 2016 at Buie Funeral Chapel in Rison with Brother David Leopard and Brother Johnnie Brewster. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery at Rison. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, April 28, 2016 at the funeral home. Grandchildren and great grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. The family would like to express special appreciation to Omega Berry and Staff of Greenhouse Cottage Number One for all of their care.
