Helen Hobson Pennington

Helen Hobson Pennington, age 86, of Rison, passed away February 8, 2023 at her home.  She was born June 2, 1936 in Rison, AR to the late Calvin S. and Gladys Childress Hobson. She graduated from Rison High School, and attended Arkansas A&M College (now the University of Arkansas at Monticello). Helen retired from the Soil Conservation Service, where she worked for 22 years.  She also worked at the former Cleveland County Memorial Hospital in Rison, J&M Electric in Pine Bluff, Bankers Life Company in Little Rock, and the Agricultural Extension Service in Rison. Helen was a lifelong member of Rison United Methodist Church.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Argus L. (Pete) Pennington.

She is survived by her brother, Charles C. Hobson, and by her nieces, Sandra Hobson Cook, Cynthia Adams and Malinda (Lindy) Williams, all of Little Rock, AR.

Memorials may be made to the Rison United Methodist Church or the American Cancer Society.

Graveside services will be 1:30 p.m., Saturday, February 18, 2023 at Greenwood Cemetery in Rison.
