Hazel Williams

August 19, 1915 — December 16, 2009

Hazel Mae Williams, 94, of Clarksville went to be with the Lord Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at Johnson Regional Medical Center. She was born August 19, 1915 in the Rowell Community, the daughter of the late Idell and Addie Bell Roberts Reeves. Mrs. Williams attended Rowell and Kelso public schools. She made her home in Dermott, McGehee and Pine Bluff until 2005, when she moved with her family to Clarksville. Mrs. Williams was a charter member of First Assembly of God Church in Pine Bluff, and was very active in the church. She was also active with the contact telephone ministries in Pine Bluff. Mrs. Williams was a retired nurse, homemaker, Loving Mother and Grandmother. She is the widow of J.C. Williams, whom she married April 17, 1937. Mrs. Williams was also preceded in death by two sons, Roy Williams and Charles Williams.

Mrs. Williams is survived by two sons and daughter-in-law, David Williams of Clarksville, Jimmy and Marylyn Williams of Fayetteville; one daughter, Mary Kesterson of Clarksville; one daughter-in-law, Nancy Williams of Benton; six grandchildren and spouses, Stephen and Linda Williams of Pine Bluff, Tony Williams of San Francisco, Alisa Williams of Fayetteville, Kevin and Yesi Kesterson of Clarksville, Pam and Bill West of Hot Springs, Kim and John Reed of White Hall; seven great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 21, 2009 at Buie Funeral Home Chapel in Rison with Reverend Joina Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Wilson Cemetery. Visitation is 9:00 to 10:00 a.m., prior to service. Arrangements are under the direction of Buie Funeral Home of Rison (870) 325-6216.
