Hazel M. Croy Campbell, age 87, of Redfield passed away Friday, March 27, 2009 at Sheridan Nursing Rehabilitation Center in Sheridan. She was born September 23, 1921 in Redfield, a daughter of the late Danel Richard and Nancy Adeline Henry Murdock. Mrs. Campbell was a homemaker and was known for being one of the best home-bakers in the area. Her strong faith was of true Missionary Baptist and she was a member of Walnut Ridge Missionary Baptist Church. Mrs. Campbell was also preceded in death by two husbands, Luther Croy, and J.C. Campbell; two brothers, Cary and Pete Murdock; five sisters, Ethel McGowan, Dorothy Bowman, Minneola Putman, Annie Chandler, Bernice Holt; grandson, Dwayne Speights.

She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Nora Ann and Joe Weith of Redfield, Patsy and Richard Cole of Pencil Bluff, Nancy and Robert Adams of Prattsville; seven step-children; brother, Charlie Murdock; two grandchildren, Kathy Miller, Cindy Adams; six great grandchildren, Brennon and Colbey Winston, Jeremy and Jessica Speights, Whitney Davis, Amy Barnhart; two great great grandchildren, Sierra Grace Barnhart, Devan Randall Mullins.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 30, 2009 at Buie Funeral Chapel in Sheridan with Brother Robert Ewing, Brother Ronnie Meredith, and Brother Elton Judd officiating. Burial will follow at Orion Cemetery near Redfield. Visitation will be from 3-5 p.m. Sunday, March 29, 2009 at the funeral home. Pallbearers are: Greg Burris, Brennon Winston, Ricky Winston, Robby Davis, Clint Weith, and Ronnie Weith. Honorary pallbearers are: Colbey Winston, George Harden, and Charles Lee Croy. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials may be made to Walnut Ridge Missionary Baptist Church or Orion Cemetery Association. Please sign the online guestbook at www.buiefuneralhome.com.
