Havis H. Hyatt, age 73 of Rison, died, Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at the Arkansas Heart Hospital. He was born February 16, 1938 in the Herbine Community, a son of the late Herman Clifton Hyatt Sr., and Clarice Holderfield Hyatt. Mr. Hyatt served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War, and worked for Mid America Packing before his retirement. He served as a Cleveland County Justice of the Peace and with the Cleveland County Sheriff's Department Auxiliary. Mr. Hyatt was a mason, member of Culpepper Masonic Lodge #186. He was an avid hunter and a member of the Staves Hunting Club. Mr. Hyatt coached peewee and Little League sports for many years. He served as a volunteer on the Cleveland County Ambulance and served on the Cleveland County School Board. Mr. Hyatt was a member of Bethel Number One Missionary Baptist Church. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Elbert Clayton Hyatt and Herman "Tap" Hyatt. Mr. Hyatt is survived by his wife, Shirley Hyatt of Rison; two sons and daughter-in-law, Scott and Margie Hyatt of Booneville, Greg Hyatt of Rison; one daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Paul Gautreaux of Benton; one brother, Bobby Hyatt of Rison; two sisters, Charlene Bond and Frances Wells, both of Rison; seven grandchildren, Chad Haller, Chase Haller, Taylor Hyatt, Allison Hyatt, Hunter Gautreaux, Reed Gautreaux and Emma Hyatt. Funeral services are 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 13, 2012 at Bethel Number One Missionary Baptist Church with Brother Jim Tollison and Brother Gary Lambright officiating. Burial will follow in Prosperity Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, January 12, 2012 at Buie Funeral Home in Rison. Pallbearers are Bobby Hyatt Jr., Chad Cope, Donald Cope, Michael Hyatt, Ronnie Brown, Chris Hyatt, Mark Allen, David Allen and Douglas Ashcraft. Honorary pallbearers are the Cleveland County Sheriff's Department and special Monday friends from Herbine, Clinton Rauls, Jackie Rauls, Wayne Richardson, George Ashcraft, and Waymon Sorey. Memorials may be made to Bethel Family Life Center, P. O. Box 370, Rison, Arkansas 71665. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Buie Funeral Home of Rison (870)325-6216.
