Harold Duane Daves, age 67, of Quitman, passed away Thursday, January 21st, 2021, at his home with his family by his side.
Duane was born January 14, 1954, in Heber Springs to Jim Daves and Willie Moore Daves. He worked as a supervisor in the manufacturing industry. He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing, riding his trike, spending time with his family, attending the Quitman football/basketball games, and spending time at the pond on his property. He made daily visits to The Dawg House where he spent time at the coffee table with his friends. You knew Duane liked you, when he gave you heck. He was big hearted and a humble man. He loved to aggravate the hair off your skin, but he had a heart the size of a hubcap.
He leaves to cherish his memories, one daughter, Alisha Baker (Alan) of Quitman; one son, Randy Edwards (Susanna) of Quitman; his nephew whom he loved as a son, Terry Skudlark, a.k.a. Pooh Bear of Greenbrier; one sister, Willodean Collins of Greenbrier; six grandchildren, Wyatt Varvil, Gage Wilson, Kortney Wilson, Adin Edwards, Nehemiah Edwards and Andrew Edwards all of Quitman; all of his loved coffee drinking buddies, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers, Edwin Daves, Richard Daves, and Joe Daves.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, January 26th, 2021, at 2:00 PM at the family farm, 345 Fenley Lane Quitman, AR 72131 with Brother Kirk Hardy officiating. Private burial for immediate family members will follow in Quitman Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Jason Varvil, Alan Baker, Gage Wilson, Jim Bagget, Brandon Smith, Terrance Skudlark, Don Rowlett and Edwin Smith.
Duane's instruction to his family was that everyone dress casual. No suit and ties.
