Harold Leslie Aiken

September 17, 1932 — November 23, 2024

Harold Leslie Aiken, a devoted family man and cherished member of the community, passed away on November 23, 2024 in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Born on September 17, 1932, in Claremont, New Hampshire, to the late Ernest and Bessie Aiken. Harold's journey through life was marked by service, dedication, and an unwavering spirit.

Harold's patriotism and commitment to his country were evident in his 21 years in the Army. Following his military service, he pursued his education, earning an associate degree at El Paso Community College in Colorado Springs and furthering his studies at the Missionary Baptist Seminary School in Little Rock. His love for learning was matched only by his passion for his faith, as he devoted time each day to reading his Bible, often completing it by early June each year.

In addition to his spiritual pursuits, Harold had a variety of interests that brought him joy. He was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox baseball team and the New England Patriots football team. He found solace in putting together jigsaw puzzles and took great pleasure in watching the hummingbirds and watching his flowers grow - a testament to his appreciation for the beauty of nature. Travel was also a cherished hobby, allowing him to explore the world around him.

Harold's legacy is carried on by his loving children: Judy Chapman, Michael Aiken, Wayne Aiken (Kathy), Roger Aiken, Belinda Abbott (Brent), and John Aiken (Ada). He was also a proud grandfather to 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his beloved spouse of 23 years, Frieda Aiken, his parents, and four siblings: Charles, Paul, Faye, and Ernie.

He was well cared for by the Hospice Care team at CHI, in Little Rock.

Though the final few years were very hard on him, he never lost his sense of humor.
