Guy F. Poss

Guy F. Poss, age 76 of Calmer died Sunday, March 13, 2016 in Little Rock. He was born November 23, 1939 in Cleveland County, a son of the late Joe Tom Poss and Versie Lee James Poss. Mr. Poss was a graduate of Rison High School and was employed with the Cotton Belt Railroad for many years before retiring. Guy's family held a special place in his heart and Thursday was always "double date night" for them and their friends. He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing and watching sports. Mr. Poss was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded by his parents; three brothers, Donald Ray Poss, Johnnie Carol Poss, Billy Joe Poss and one sister, Edna Neel.

Survivors include his wife of thirty-one years, Pat Schmitz Poss of Calmer; two daughters, Joyce Reed and husband, Mike of Rowell, Mona Reap of Warren; three step-children, Dean and Monica Lindley, Angie Lindley, Dawn and Gregg Hecht; ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at Buie Funeral chapel in Rison with Brother Matt McDonnal and Brother Darrell Sellers officiating. Interment will follow at Davis Cemetery in Grapevine. Visitation will be 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. prior to the funeral service. Pallbearers are Donald Gene Clark, Gene Kelley, Willie Cobb, Billy Rex Morrison, Tom White, Don Parrish and Buck Owens. Funeral arrangements are by Buie Funeral Home of Rison.
