Gretchen Tatum age 49 of Rison, died Monday, April 13, 2009 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. She was born April 29, 1959 in Shreveport, Louisiana, a daughter of Charles Edward Anderson Sr., and Madeline Horneman Anderson. Mrs. Tatum graduated from Airline High School in Bossier City, Louisiana in 1977 and later attended Louisiana Tech. She married Sydney Seth Tatum Jr., on April 19, 1986 in Bossier City, Louisiana. Mrs. Tatum was a receptionist for Rison High School for the past eight years until she retired in 2008. She attended Rison Baptist Church. Gretchen was preceded in death by her grandparents, Oliver Lawrence and Hattie Markham Horneman, James Floyd and Ruth Rogers Anderson.

Mrs. Tatum is survived by her husband, Sydney Seth Tatum Jr., of Rison; sons Seth Anderson and Charles Austin Tatum, both of Rison; parents, Charles Edward and Madeline Horneman Anderson Sr., of Bossier City, Louisiana; brother, Charles E. Andy Anderson Jr., and wife Alissa of Bossier City, Louisiana; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Sydney Seth and Mary Jo Tatum Sr., of Dubach, Louisiana; grandmother-in-law, Mary Frances Carpenter of Dubach, Louisiana; sister-in-law, Shannon Perot and her husband Jeff of Ruston, Louisiana; numerous aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 16, 2009 at First Baptist Church in Bossier City, Louisiana with Dr. Fred Lowery and Brother Wade Totty officiating. Burial will follow at Plain Dealing Cemetery in Plain Dealing, Louisiana. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. prior to service at the church. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at Buie Funeral Home in Rison. Pallbearers are Cliff Hopson, Scott Morrison, Jay England, Murry Freeman, Parker Self, Allen Self and Louis Buster Humphrey. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 901 North University, Little Rock, Arkansas 72205. Special Thanks to Baptist Hospital Hematology and Oncology Floor Nurses and Staff; Dr. Diane Wilder and Staff; JRMC ER, Hematology, Oncology and Hospice.
