Gregory Philip Holliman, 64, of Searcy, AR, passed from this life on October 24 at Baptist Hospital in North Little Rock following kidney surgery.
After tragically losing his parents and sister in a car accident when he was 4 years old, he was raised by his grandparents, Willie and Myrtle Britton. Gregory’s life was shaped by their love for God and their guidance. A cherished member of the College Church of Christ, Gregory’s faith played a significant role in his life. Gregory attended Harding Academy in Searcy, AR followed by White County Central High School in Judsonia, AR.
He loved to collect all kinds of books but his biggest collection was stamps. It was said that he had more stamps than the post office. He had a remarkable ability to play the piano without any written music. He touched the lives of those around him with his attempts at humor, his warmth and kindness.
Gregory was preceded in death by his parents, Ocie and Hazel Holliman and his sister, Diedra Ann, his grandparents Willie and Myrtle Britton and Leta and Guy Holliman and many aunts and uncles.
He is survived by Joy Long, his companion of 7 years and cousins Karon (Rick) Cleveland, Sharon Yingling, Pat Rice, Barbara (Victor) Collins, Ellen Collins, Barry (Patsy) Collins, Scott Collins, Debra Brown, Michael (Connie) Johnson, Mikel (Pam) Holliman, Brenda Simmering, Rae (Gene) Jordan and aunt Sue Holliman.
