Glen Dale Pledger
July 21, 1936 — February 5, 2015
Former Searcy Mayor, Glen Dale Pledger age 78, passed from this life Thursday, February 5, 2015 at White County Medical Center. He was born July 21, 1936 in Searcy to the late George Arnold and Mildred Humble Pledger.
Glen was a 1954 graduate of Searcy High School and was a successful commercial concrete contractor in Searcy for many years. In 1986, he was elected as Mayor of Searcy, which made him so proud to serve his community. Glen loved his family with all his heart and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Fern Treat Pledger; daughter, Lisa Pledger Jackson and son, Jeffery Glen Pledger all of Searcy; and one granddaughter, Mary Margaret Jackson who was the light in her Papa’s life.
At Glen’s request, there will be no visitation or service. He wanted no tears to be associated with his memory. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Gum Springs Cemetery at 1501 W. Booth Road, Searcy, Arkansas 72143.
