Gladys Hopper

Gladys Mae Hopper, age 79 of Rison, died, Friday, April 29, 2011 at the Green House Cottages of Southern Hills Nursing Home. She was born August 5, 1931 in Glendale, a daughter of the late Benjamin Franklin Stringfellow and Minnie Mae Veazey Stringfellow. Mrs. Hopper loved her family, the outdoors, riding and pets. She was a homemaker and a member of Trinity Faith Assembly of God Church. She was also preceded in death by her Husband, Asa Hopper Jr; son, Billy Hopper; three brothers, Cleon Stringfellow, Benny Stringfellow and Billy Stringfellow; one infant sister.

Mrs. Hopper is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, Bobby and Judy Hopper, Freddie and Sheila Hopper, Randy and Amel Hopper, Gary Hopper; five daughters and sons-in-laws, Peggy and Bob Long, Deborah and Anthony Prescott, all of Rison, Patsy Peterson of Pine Bluff, Barbara and Adam Lawrence, Becky and Joe Lee Poss of Rison; one brother, Jessie Stringfellow of Pine Bluff; fifteen grandchildren; ten great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 2, 2011at Buie Funeral Home in Rison with Reverend Leonard Hodges officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, May 1, 2011. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Memorials may be made to the donors charity of choice.
