Gerald Cecil Tackett

Gerald Cecil Tackett, 66, of Pangburn, formerly of Hawkinsville, Georgia, passed away March 27, 2016 at Unity Health in Searcy.  He was born April 20, 1949 at Bellfountain, Ohio to the late Alrey and Ann Goins Tackett.
Mr. Tackett graduated from Danville, Indiana High School and worked for many years as a meat cutter.   He received his Bachelors in religious education at Howard Payne University at Brownwood, Texas going on to receive his Master’s in Divinity at Golden Gate Seminary in Phoenix, Arizona and was only 21 hours short of obtaining his Doctorate in Theology before his health began to fail.  He felt the calling to minister at the young age of 21 and spent the rest of his life dedicated to the advancement of Heaven and God’s Glory.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Tonita Tackett and one brother, Walter Diersing.
He married Charlene Allen Tackett February 28, 1970 at Andersonville, Indiana; she survives.  He is also survived by two sons, Jared Tackett (Nikki) of Pangburn and Aaron Tackett (Trishia) of Bedford, Indiana; daughter, April Blanton (Michael) of Hawkinsville, Georgia; grandchildren, Duke, Suzanna, Cooper, Gus, and Abbi; step grandchildren, Austin and Katelyn; one brother, George Diersing; as well as a host of extended family and friends.
The family will have a memorial service at a later date at his home church, Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Georgia.
