Gerald Hughes

Gerald Hughes, 75, of Searcy, passed from this life October 6, 2017.  He was born March 1, 1942 at Gravel Hill to the late Arvil and Hazel Hughes.
He was a 1961 graduate of Searcy High School and served in the Army from 1964 to 1970.  He was also the owner of Hughes Auto Parts and Oil Company until his retirement.  He loved God first, and his family.  He was a car buff, but also loved anything motorized.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Jason Hughes.
He married Lana Kisner Hughes March 3, 1986 at Little Rock; she survives.  He is also survived by three sons, Aaron Hughes (Sydney) of Searcy, Michael Cook (Amelia) of Palestine, Texas; and Lincoln Nail (Laura) of Rogers; one daughter, Shelly Jones (Chris) of Midland, Texas; two brothers, Jackie Hughes of Judsonia and Max Hughes (Juanita) of Searcy; three sisters, Alma Hughes of Cabot, Ladonna Pendergrass (Roger) of Little Rock, and Tanji Langley (Mitchell) of Searcy; eight grandchildren and one great grandchild; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family will have a memorial graveside service at Gray Cemetery at Gravel Hill 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 21, 2017.
