George Franklin Ritchey

George Franklin Ritchey, age 69 of Sheridan, passed away Monday, August 31, 2009 in Little Rock. He was born May 1, 1940 in Prattsville, Arkansas to the late Walter and Zenie Jordan Ritchey. On October 28, 1974 he married Georgia Holstead in Sheridan. Mr. Ritchey worked his entire life as an iron worker until he retired in 1995. He was a member of Iron Workers Local #321 in Little Rock. Mr. Ritchey was preceded in death by his brother, Willis Ritchey and a sister, Verla Lovell.

He is survived by his wife, Georgia Ritchey of the home; three sons and daughters-in-law, Tony (Brenda) Ritchey, Timmy (Sheila) Ritchey, Michael (Monica) Ritchey, all of Sheridan; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren; three sisters, Geneve (Nathan) Nall of Prattsville, Helen (Jimmy) Norris of Green Forest, Arkansas, Florene (Terrell) Young of Lake Charles, Louisiana; brother, Johnny (Linda) Ritchey of Greenville, Texas.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 4, 2009 at Buie Funeral Home chapel with Brother Al Michael officiating. Interment will follow at Philadelphia Cemetery in Prattsville.
