George Edward “Eddie” Harp, 81 of Sheridan, passed away Monday, January 13, 2020. He was born February 27, 1938 in Ouachita County to the late George Harp and Christine Harp. Eddie or “Butter Bean”, as he was known to everyone, retired from logging after 60 years, and enjoyed working and mowing his yard, keeping it immaculate. He was also well known at Hardees, where he would meet up with all his buddies, and visit. Along with his parents, Eddie was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years Mary Lynn Crutchfield Harp, brothers, Charles “Peanut” Harp, Alvin Harp, Joe Ted Harp, Donnie Harp, and James R. Harp.
He is survived by his daughters, Mary Walker (Rodney) of Poyen, Eddie Jean Harp of Nevada, and Patsy Falls of Malvern, grandchildren, Christy Elrod (David)of Poyen, Ben Walker (Sonya) of Hot Springs, Kari Gillham (Aaron) of Malvern, and Vannessa Ellison (Daniel) of Malvern, 12 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday, January 16, 2020 at Buie Funeral Home of Sheridan. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 17, 2020 at Buie Funeral Home of Sheridan with burial to follow in Philadelphia Cemetery in Prattsville.
