George R. Hamilton

George R. Hamilton, age 72, of Rison, died Thursday, October 18, 2012. He was born November 17, 1939 in Miamisburg, Ohio, a son of the late Robert William Hamilton and Marla Baver Hamilton. George served in the United States Air Force. He was employed for twenty eight years as a Chief Engineer on a sea going vessel for Orgulf/ Midland Enterprises, and was a member of Saint John's Lutheran Church in Miamisburg, Ohio. George enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing. He was also preceded in death by one grandson, Robert Clint Hamilton. George is survived by wife, Donna Stewart Hamilton of Rison; son and daughter-in-law, Robert William and Teresa Hamilton of Rison; daughter and son-in-law, Stacey and Gary Sipes of Rison; two brothers, Eugene Rhodes of West Milton, Ohio, Paul Hamilton of Miamisburg, Ohio; one sister, Marilyn Boyd of Miamisburg, Ohio; four grandchildren, Robyn Hamilton, Terran Henderson, Caleb Sipes and Faith Sipes; three great grandchildren, Allie Rue Henderson, Reece William Hayden and Harper Allen Henderson. Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m, Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at Buie Funeral Home with Reverend Leonard Hodges and Reverend Travis George officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, October 22, 2012 at Buie Funeral Home in Rison. Pallbearers are Steve Cummings, Steve Stewart, Pat Stewart, Guy Poss, Randy Hollis, Wayne White, Terry Sipes and Jim L. Attwood.
