George Denson Melton, Jr., age 82, of Beebe, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 25th, 2021.
He was born on February 7th, 1939, in Milburn, Oklahoma to George and Ina Melton. He was a veteran in the United States Army, was a Christian in the Apostolic faith and a member of Lighthouse Pentecostal Church in Beebe. In addition to being involved in church, he was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed shooting guns, spending time outdoors and playing golf.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of 60 years, Norma Melton of the home, two daughters, Sandra Stamper and husband, Gary of Indianapolis, Indiana; Brenda Melton of Bakersfield, California; one son, Dennis Melton and wife, Sherry of Sherwood; two brothers, Charley Melton of Bakersfield, California; Larry Melton of Bakersfield, California; two sisters, Mary Furgason of Bakersfield, California; Terry Stewart of Roseville, California; nine grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and one on the way, as well as many extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Ina Melton; two sisters, Bonita Condit and Gerri Smith.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, January 3rd, 2022, at 2:00 pm at the Lighthouse Pentecostal Church, 505 North Apple Street, Beebe, AR 72012, with Pastor Jason Scheel and Dr. John Scheel officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service also at the church. Burial will follow at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens in Beebe, Arkansas.
Pallbearers for the service are Derrick Ash, Justin Stamper, Jason Stamper, Andrew Melton, Kenny Holland, Drew Harness, Dustin Mills and George Bradley.
