Genevieve Shuffield, 83, of Kensett, passed away May 2, 2020 at her residence. She was born June 16, 1936 at Black Oak, Arkansas to the late Willie and Mabel Dillon King.
Mrs. Shuffield graduated from Nettleton High School in Jonesboro and was a member of Kensett First Baptist Church.
A poem that best summarizes Genevieve is called Mom’s Prayer; Thank you, God for all your blessings to me and my family. For the strength you give me each day and for the people around me who make life more meaningful.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Gary Shuffield; grandson, Charles Ramsey; four brothers, Harold, Clarence, Burl, and David King; and one sister, Velma Waymire.
She married Raymond Shuffield January 31, 1955 at Greenville, Mississippi; he survives. She is also survived by a daughter, Rhanna Hill of Kensett; two grandchildren, Holly Ramsey (John) of Fort Worth, Texas and Savannah Shuffield of Denton, Texas; five brothers, Leroy King of Illinois, John King (Sharon) of Colorado, Jim King of Paragould, Laverne King (Pat) of Jonesboro, and Larry King of Paragould; two sisters, Gail Knight (Bill) of Jonesboro and Linda Copeland (Larry) of Cherokee Village; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family will have a memorial at a later date.
