Geneva Brown Jacobs

Geneva "Grandmother" Jacobs, age 93, of the Macedonia community near Rison, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 28, 2014. She was born April 20, 1921 in the Macedonia community, a daughter of the late Charles Victor Brown and Myra Ellen Cash Brown. Mrs. Jacobs was a long time member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church. She had many hobbies which included working in her yard, sewing, quilting and fishing. Mrs. Jacobs greatly enjoyed all of them. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, James Joseph Jacobs; two sons, Alvin Lee Jacobs and James A. Jacobs; one son-in-law, Levon Puckett; three brothers, Victor Brown, Jr., Frank Brown and Johnny Brown; two sisters, Carrie Hilton Mullins and Charlene Brown; three grandchildren, Phillip Erwin, David Wayne Herrington and Donna Gayle Jacobs and two great grandchildren. Left to cherish her memory are four daughters, Myra Puckett, Janet Herrington and her husband David, Joleta Erwin and her husband Daris, all of the Macedonia community and Georgia Puckett and her husband Floyd Ray of Rogers; two daughter-in-laws, Nell Jacobs and Jane Jacobs, both of the Macedonia community; one brother, David Brown of White Hall; two sisters, Leano Smith of Pacific, Missouri and Laverne Bridges of White Hall; sixteen grandchildren; thirty-eight great grandchildren; seven great great grandchildren and a whole host of nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, October 30, 2014 in the Buie Funeral Home chapel. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 31, 2014 at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church with Brother Jackie Richardson and Brother James Wehunt officiating. Pallbearers are her grandsons, Paul Jacobs, Nathan Jacobs, Charles Puckett, Joe Herrington, Jimmy Herrington, Joey Erwin, James Erwin, Wesley Puckett and James Ray Puckett. Burial will follow in Macedonia Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, 7370 Hwy 35 South, Rison, Arkansas 71665.
