Genette Hale

Genette Smith Hale age 88, of the Calmer Community, near Rison, died Sunday, July 11, 2010 at Jefferson Regional Center in Pine Bluff. She was born September 18, 1921 at Glendale, a daughter of the late Robert Nick Smith and Linnie Bernetis Johnson Smith. Mrs. Hale was a homemaker and a member of Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Walter Hale on September 18, 2003; daughter, Ann Greenlee on June 5, 2009; two brothers, Claude Smith, Clifton Smith; four sisters, Hazel Melton, Mildred Guillory, Onie Melton and Agnes Cope.

Mrs. Hale is survived by her son-in-law, Homer Greenlee of the Calmer Community; three grandchildren, Mark Greenlee of Crossett, Janet Greenlee Kimsey of Star City, Joyce Greenlee Ballew of Rowell; eight great grandchildren, Brandi, Jessica, Samantha, Max, Karen, Collin, Jared, Christian; one great-great granddaughter, Baylee.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 13, 2010, at Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church with Brother Doney Blackerby and Brother Mike Powell officiating. Burial will follow in Shady Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers are Robert Cope, Jimmy Melton, Orie Lee Guillory, Charles Greenlee, Michael Ballew and Lloyd Kimsey.
