Gary Clinton Pitts

Gary was born on March 20, 1941 in Inglewood, California to J.D. and Gracie Mae Pitts (Skelton) and passed away on may 25, 2024 at the John L McClellan Memorial Hospital in North Little Rock, Arkansas at the age of 83.

Gary attended high school in Alice, Texas and joined the United States Air Force in July 1961. On July 17, 1961, he married Betty June Ragland of Nashville, Tennessee.

After a tour of duty in Tripoli, North Africa, he returned to Nashville and then served in Bangor, Maine. Upon his honorable discharge from the Air Force in 1963, he and his family moved to Alice, Texas. He worked in the oil fields in Texas and moved to Nashville and worked as a security guard until retirement.

Gary enjoyed fishing with friends and making people laugh.

Gary is preceded in death by his parents, J.D. and Gracie Mae Pitts, son, Kenneth Wayne Pitts, brother, Kenneth Ray Pitts, and sister, Mary Jane Wyro.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Betty June Pitts, and sister, Patsy Hierholzer of Karnes City, Texas. Nieces and Nephews, Laura Ann Montes/Ruben of Karnes City, Texas, Everette Ray Porter/ Chandra of Arizona, Martin Allen Perry, Sr/ Angela of Alice, Texas, Molly Ann Vickers of Alice, Texas and Karen Lynn Hierholzer of Karnes City, Texas.

He has many grand and great grand nieces and nephews. Honorary niece Melissa Gutierrez of Nashville, Tennessee.

A very special thank you for honorary niece, Faith Gonzales of Searcy, Arkansas who has been his loving and faithful care giver since August 2023.
