Gary W. Jackson, 71, of Searcy, passed away October 21, 2019 at Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock. He was born September 23, 1948 at Harrisburg to the late Barney and Clara Rice Jackson.
Gary graduated from Griffithville High School in 1964 and went on to serve in the United States Marine Corps. He worked for Eaton Corporation for several years as well as working for Weatherford in the oil fields. He also worked as a bail bondsman for Bail Bond Financing in White Hall. Faith and family was always very important to Gary. He was a member of Complete in Christ Church in Searcy where he served as a Sunday school teacher and especially reached out to those with addictions. With his family, he was a devoted husband and father, but he loved being a grandfather the most. In his past time, he was an avid hunter and fisherman, loved riding horses as well as camping. In retirement he enjoyed traveling and driving cars for Cowboy Chevrolet.
In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by his brother, Danny Jackson.
He married the love of his life, Marvell Tew Jackson January 31, 2004 at Pangburn who survives. He is also survived by six children, Jade Jackson and Lance Jackson (Angie) both of Searcy; daughter Molly Ivy of Texas; step daughters, Melissa Sullivan of Cabot and Stacy Crossen (Will) of Pangburn; as well as a bonus son, Nathan Pruss of Romance; twelve grandchildren; three great grandchildren; one sister, Doreen Bradley (Bob) of Searcy; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will have a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 24, 2019 at Valley Baptist Church with a visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, lasting memorials should be directed to Complete in Christ Church Rehab Program.
