Fred Walter

September 14, 1956 — March 2, 2015

Fred Walter, 58 of Judsonia passed from this life March 2, 2015.  He was born September 14, 1956 in Searcy to the late Phillip and Betty Rudd Walter. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother in law, Freddy Yarbrough.

His memory will be cherished by a loving family wife, Becky Stone Walter; daughter, Cami Bloesch (Ken); son, Cliff McMullen; grandchildren, Kayla and Evan Langston, Emily and Kaleb Bloesch; sister, Peggy Yarbrough; nieces, Kelly, Ashley, Alexis, and Sally; nephews, Michael and Chad; one aunt, Martha Taylor; as well as loving extended family and host of friends.

Fred was the sole owner of Four Star Siding & Guttering. He learned the trade in Chicago when he was 19 years old. A year later he returned home and began his own business. Fred was the first siding contractor around here with the knowledge and tools to cover all the wood with aluminum to make painting house trim a thing of the past. Fred Walter taught many people his craft, giving them the opportunity for employment and skill to make a career in the siding business.  Due to his failing health, he sadly had to close the business after nearly 40 years.

Next to the love for his family he loved to duck hunting on the Pot Hole in the Hurricane Bottoms. Fred was a master with a duck call. Watching the ducks glide in and lite was a beauty to behold. Sitting around a bon fire at camp site sharing a great meal and old stories with family and good friends was something he enjoyed. As many can attest, Fred was a fabulous cook!

Fred also loved to fish and camp with his family. His favorite fishing holes were Murphy Lake, Mallard Pond and of course Lake Conway where the cabin is. Many big fish were caught there and maybe a few small fish tales were born or vice versa!  Golf was also a hobby of his. Although he never thought he was good as he really was.

Christmas was a big event for Fred at the Walter household. People would drive from miles around to bring their children to see the "Christmas house" From the lighted candy cane yard, to the huge fresh cut cedar tree covered with lights to the Santa, sleigh and reindeer on top of the house he made with his father when he was a little boy and everything in between, this was a joy to him.

Fred found joy in delivering gifts and food to families so they would have a better Christmas. Fred had a big heart and donated generously to various organizations which aided children.

Fred made many friends and acquaintances during his short life. If you knew him, you liked him. If you didn't know him you would have liked him. Fred was a wonderful, loving and most loved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, granddad and friend that any one of us could wish to have. We had the best.

Fred believed in God and loved these United States of America and his little home town of Judsonia.

Fred Walter, we will miss you.  Thanks for the memories. We will see you on the other side. RIP

The family will receive friends March 6 at NLC (New Life Church) on Hawkins Dr in Searcy from 5-7 pm.
