Frances Barber Hammond, 97, of McRae passed away at her residence February 1, 2020. She born December 29, 1922 at Searcy to the late Jesse and Winnie Haywood Barber.
She was an active member of McRae Methodist Church. She was an avid volunteer for programs with home economics, Special Olympics and Senior Aerobics. She enjoyed spending time with her family and church friends. She was also a proud Searcy High School Alumni, Class of 1940.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Harry Lee Shooke; a daughter, Barbara Frances Nowell; two brothers, James Barber and Harry Lee Barber; two husbands, Charles Earnest Shooke, Sr. and Lavon L Hammond.
She is survived by one son, Charles E Shooke, Jr. (Glenda) of Nash, Texas; one daughter, Patti D Harris of McRae; one stepson Jerry R Hammond of Cherokee Village; grandchildren, Allan Britt, Kevin Lee Harris, and Amanda Harris; as well as two great grandchildren, Maydn Harris and Lani Harris.
The family will plan a memorial service at a later date.
