Ezra Thompson, Sr

Ezra D. Thompson, Sr., age 66, of Sheridan, Arkansas formerly of Oakdale, Louisiana passed away Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at Saline Hospice House in Bryant, Arkansas with his loving family by his side. He was born March 12, 1947 to the late Worley Thompson Sr. and Hazel (Johnson) Thompson. Ezra was of Baptist faith and was attending Meadowview Baptist Church in Sheridan, Arkansas. He loved spending time with his family and playing the guitar. Eara was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Worley Thompson,Jr.; one sister, Betty Ashcraft. He is survived by two sons, Ezra D. Thompson, Jr., (Christy), Steven W. Thompson both of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; one daughter Sonya Corley (Wayne) of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; one brother, Jim Thompson of New Orleans Louisiana; three sisters, Alyne Rodgers and Ruby Barnhart (Ed) both of Sheridan, Arkansas, Rita C. Thompson of Commerce, Texas; three grandchildren, Amanda Thompson, Billy Wayne Corley, Sarah Corley all of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; the mother of his children, Loretta Thompson and a host of other family and friends that will miss him dearly. Funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M., Friday, June 7, 2013 at Buie Funeral Home Sheridan, Arkansas with visitation from 12:30 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. prior to the service with Brother Micah McKinley officiating. Interment will follow in New Hope Cemetery near Sheridan, Arkansas in the Crossroad Community. The family would like to thank Saline Hospice House for the wonderful care during his illness.
