Ettie “Etta” Francis Noblitt, born August 23, 1938, died at the age of 83 in her hometown of Vilonia, Arkansas on November 22, 2021. She was a graduate of Beebe, Arkansas, and completed business school in Little Rock, Arkansas. She worked at the Conway Human Development Center and retired after working 30 plus years. She married the love of her life, Samuel Edison Noblitt, in 1960. She loved her life with a family of eleven children; seven boys and four girls. She served as a member of Vilonia Church of the Nazarene, spending several years serving as a board member, Sunday school teacher, children’s church, and missions. She was loved and known as “Mom” or “Mamaw” by many.
She is survived by her daughters, Ettie Clarica Hocking and husband Michael of Vilonia, Arkansas; Remona Ruth Thorpe and husband Ed of Conway, Arkansas; Mary Lee Waldron of Vilonia, Arkansas; sons, David Allen Noblitt of Vilonia, Arkansas, James Edison Noblitt and wife Karen of Vilonia, Arkansas; Samuel Edward Noblitt and wife Dana of Guy, Arkansas; Billy Dee Noblitt and wife Angie of Vilonia, Arkansas and Jerry Mack Noblitt of Little Rock, Arkansas; twenty-nine grandchildren, thirty-eight great-grandchildren, as well as many precious nieces, nephews, and adopted family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Byron Nelson and Exie Tennessee Snow; Her husband, Samuel Edison Noblitt, two Stepsons, Roy Samuel Noblitt and Robert Lynn Noblitt, one Stepdaughter, Virginia Clarica Noblitt; seven Sisters, Edna Nelson, Nina Nelson, Dorothy Helen Luke Douglas, Effie Ann Nelson Ashlin, Laura Kay Nelson, Avis May Nelson Orend, Exie June Nelson Lee; ten Brothers, George Nelson, Dale Nelson, Ralph Nelson, Earl Nelson, Grover Everett Spivey, Byron Snow Nelson, Rol Clark Nelson, Paul Dan Nelson, Willie Lee (Billy) Nelson; One Great Granddaughter, Emma Gayle Noblitt, and one Great Grandson, Ezra Noblitt.
Visitation will be from 11:00 am -1:00 pm, Friday, November 26th, 2021, at Vilonia Church of the Nazarene, 1054 Main St, Vilonia, AR 72173. The funeral will follow at 1:00 pm, also at the church, with Pastor James Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Vilonia Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Gary Evatt, Donny Hartwick, Gene Martin, David Smith, Jarrod Ritchie and Jeremy Ritchie. Her grandsons will serve as honorary pallbearers.
